Odorant Program
Natural gas is odorless in its natural state; however, Government regulations require us to add an odorant called Mercaptan for public safety (if you've ever experienced a gas leak you will recognize the rotten egg smell that Mercaptan has).
ESGAS provides Mercaptan delivery to Gas Co-ops and other third party customers under the Alberta Odorant Services program.
